- Develop the annual theme and PR focus areas in line with business plan across BU’s and functions
- Plan the annual event calendar for press conference or other official media engagement
- Review and evaluate the PR value as well as consolidate the feedback from journalists per conference
[2] Media relationship
- Handle inquiries and communicate with journalists proactively to provide the media valued information
- Arrange interview, develop press materials to effectively communicate with media and yield coverage
[3] Issues/crisis management
- Identify the current and potential crisis/issue factors and share/alert with the management team
- Develop/update the crisis management guidelines on regular basis as a preemptive measure
- Manage issue situations through developing the media statement and QA by working with relevant department to control the negative media report and to minimize business impact
- Under the crisis situations, lead the organization as control tower to manage the situation
[4] Intelligence gathering
- Business intelligence deals with any matter posing threat to relations with business partners
- Provide reputational due diligence and business intelligence gathering to mitigate potential risks
- Offer pre-transaction due diligence in acquisition, strategic alliance involving equity investment, and business partnership
[5] Reputation management
- Reputation risks include areas ranging from compliance, regulatory sanctions, bankruptcy to criminal/ civil lawsuits that are disclosed or not disclosed
- Reputation check on business partners aims to gather information on regulatory sanctions, criminal/civil lawsuits, investigation by law enforcement authorities, and reputation in the market
*The methodology is 1) to research public information includes financial statements (audited or non-audited), fair disclosures, credit rating reports, traditional/social media, and 2) inquiries through sources like former government/law enforcement officials, executives of corporations, journalists, and investors
